For your custody. It may include counterparties, payment history, proof metadata, contribution history, and other member-only details. Review it before sharing.
Keep a useful record when the work is finished.
Undertake keeps a broad private archive separate from deliberate sharing. A Portable Work Record is a smaller, share-reduced projection of one completed Work Receipt that you can download when useful. It can still contain sensitive work details, so review it before sharing.
For carrying one completed Work Receipt forward. The first share profile omits party identity, raw proof links, private notes, and payment-provider identifiers by default.
A completed Work Receipt can be downloaded as versioned JSON with frozen agreement fields, work summary, evidence count, Buyer decision, payment state, outcome, lifecycle timestamps, and provenance.
The portable record is generated from canonical source fields rather than the current display wording, so changing date formatting or interface copy does not silently change the semantic record.
The file includes a deterministic SHA-256 consistency digest. That digest is not proof that Undertake or a counterparty authored the file.
Technical details and verification limits
Portable Work Record v0.1 uses JSON Schema 2020-12, RFC 8785-compatible canonical JSON, and SHA-256 over the stable format + record payload. Export time is outside that digest.
Current exports are not digitally signed and are not independently authenticated credentials. The signature and key fields remain explicit and empty so the current file does not overstate what it proves.
Independent verification or other external representations are not current Portable Work Record features. Any later work must preserve the same Work Contract, proof, payment, identity, capability, and provenance boundaries rather than silently redefining them.
The record is the undertaking history, not one downloaded file. JSON is the current portable projection; the downloaded file does not redefine the underlying source truth.
